I have submitted feedback to google regarding and still my request hasn't been processed yet. The fact is, Sushant Singh Rajput's height was 183 CM, that's slightly more than 6 Feet. And when you search for this in google, you get the incorrect height of the actor as 178 CM. And on the same box you'll notice that google is showing the height of Kriti Sanon as 178 CM. I.E. According to the data available to Google Kriti Sanon and Sushant are equal in height, which is not true. And we all know that Sushant was definitely and very apparently taller than Kriti Sanon. Internet is full their pics together standing. For your ease here are a few (Please do note that in some of pics Kriti may be wearing heels, e.g. the featured pic of this post), I have added pics from Google here, Please note that it's for informational purpose only and no infrigement whatsover is intended.

I guess you're probably convinced that if Kriti Sanon's height is 178 CM (Yes, she is very tall and beautiful) and Sushant and her chemistry is very apparently seen in these pics. They must have shared a good bond, I'm assuming. So, It's pretty apparent that Sushant's height is actually 183 CM.

Sushant Himself Says That His height is 183 CM

In the following video Sushant can be seen saying that his height is 183 CM which more than 6 Feet. I'm writing this post to make people understand the Rajput community's attitude in this matter. I'm not claiming to be an expert but being the member of the community I can understand the attitude and also share that attitude to an extent and here I'm making an attempt to make people understand it. Although, I don't think that there will be any scene between Allaudin Khilji and Padmavati especially after such opposition from Rajput community, not even in a dream. But I also think that a Director has the power of perception and certain control on how the story is actually portrayed.
Eg. He can portray Khilji in a certain manner like how Shahrukh was portrayed in Baajigar, i.e. A negative character may get liked or remembered more. Here a negative character will have so much screen presence that people will feel that Khilji was awesome. And people may say when coming out of cinema hall "Kya role play kiya h ranvir ne aur shahid lagega ki kya lallu tha." instead of saying "how great was the sacrifice of Padmavati and Rajput Warriors". To make such a great sacrifice as a mere topic of entertainment would be wrong.

Also, I personally feel that the casting is not up to the mark. Why Mr. Bhansali needed Ranveer to play the role of Khilji? this could’ve been easily avoided and thus also the controversy. If he did, then he should've clarified that there'll be no scene between Deepika and him, at the start. It's the responsibility of the Director.

Please watch following video which explains history of Rani Padmini, Jauhar & Saka. I'm sharing it because Media ignores the Saka (Resolve of the Rajput Warriors to fight till their last breath, in that Saka 30000 Rajput Warriors died against Khilji)

Saka: when warriors put ashes of their dead family members on their forehead, wear Kesariya(Saffron) Safa(Turbon), put tulsi leaf & gangajal in mouth and storm out at enemy to fight to their death, killing as many enemies as they can and die valiantly. Because they have nothing left behind to go back to, they all fight till their last breath. In Last Saka at Chittor against Akbar, 8000 Rajputs died killing 40000 Warriors of Akbar.

Celebrating Khilji is like celebrating Hitler

These snippets are from "TÁRÍKH-I 'ALÁÍ also known as KHAZÁÍNU-L FUTÚH, by AMÍR KHUSRÚ " who was the contemporary of Alauddin and is very well known historian ...i fail to understand why media is hell-bent on eulogizing a cruel man of the past? what message do they want to give?

Padmavati: Ghoomar is not Ghoomar

The Ghoomar of Padmavati is not appropriate, especially the dress and movements of Padmavati and can't even be called as Ghoomar. Rajput women do not dress that way even today in Rajasthan, also even Thakurani(Wife of the feudal lord) don’t dance. In some places ladies stand up when "Thakurani sa" walks in, I’ve seen myself. And here he has shown Padmavati dancing, a Queen.

That could've been fine as well if the dance was a little more graceful and the dress was nice especially considering some of the background artists are wearing appropriate dresses in the Padmavti's Ghoomar Song. So Mr. Bhansali was aware of what actually are Rajput customs and dress is but he didn’t choose to show. Why filmmakers have the belief that truth won't be liked and they need to resort to all standard tactics which Bollywood generally use.

The line in lyrics of Ghoomar “ralak reet sab jag ki chhod kar Ghoomar ghoomar ghoome”
It means, “I’ve discarded all of traditions and customs of family and I’m doing Ghoomar”. I don't think these lines are suitable for a Queen who has sacrificed herself to safeguard her and her family's honour.

Rajputs and various communities of Rajasthan or even various races of the world have their unique culture, customs and traditions, and if you can't portray that well, then you should not take up such a task.

So, Rajputs are absolutely right in opposing this movie, especially when they can clearly see mistakes in what's just a small part of trailer and songs. If that contains mistakes, then how many mistakes are there in the whole movie.

If you do Katthak and call it Bharatnatyam or do Bharatnatyam and call it Ghoomar would it be okay. It isn't.

The way bhansali presented the Ghoomar Song is misappropriation of a living culture, and neglects the customs and protocols followed by Rajput community, also depiction of Ghoomar is historicaly inaccurate. It's not a dance form of Mewar but a dance form of Marwar.

Bhansali's Movie Generalizes Rajput clans

The Rajput community has 36 Major Kshatriya Clans, these clans greatly varied in power and influence. Although they do share the same community, its moral values and beliefs but they do have certain differences which are unique to each clan including Origin of the clan and they even have varying culture, traditions, etiquettes and even language because they ruled different regions and faced different opponents and circumstances. Bhansali grossly generalizes all Rajputs. According to Bhansali's theorem all Rajput clans like Chauhan, Sisodia, Rathore(Rashtrakutas), Solanki(Chalukya), Parmar, Kachwahas (Rajawats, Shekhawat etc.), Tomer/Tanwar, Bhati, Jadeja, Pratihar/Parihar, Gaur, Jadaun, Bais etc. are all same.
Please notice following verse:-
बलहट बँका देवड़ा, करतब बँका गौड़ !
हाडा बँका गाढ़ में, रण बँका राठौड़ !!
Above verse mentions the characteristic qualities of 4 Rajput clans. And of these two Hada and Deora are branches of Chauhan Rajput clan. So, even there's a unique identity to a subclan of Rajput clan and to generalize all Rajput and trying to summarize them in one movie is wrong. He used the Ghoomar which is unique to Marwar and has shown it as dance form of Mewar which culturally and historically inaccurate. Also, he has no idea about the dialect spoken in these regions. Dialects of Marwar, Mewar, Dhundhad and Shekhawati are different. Any person living in Rajasthan will verify that fact to you.

It's like if tomorrow all Euroean countries form a United Nation, does that mean that historians should forget that there ever existed England, Italy, France etc. They have their own cultural identities, language etc.

If Mr. Bhansali can't give that much attention to details then it's not necessary to make a movie about a subject you know nothing about because then you'll commit the same sort of mistakes which Jayasi did, Jayasi never visited Chittor, and here Mr. Bhansali didn't bother to ask Royal Family of Mewar anything and didn't shoot his movie in Rajasthan and he has actually made his movie on Khilji, taking Ranveer as main lead is proof of that and then claiming that it's about Padmavati, Ratan Singh and Chittor, it's not. And He even said that it's tribute to Rajputs. I want Mr. Bhansali to watch following Video, a Tribute Given by Israel to Rajputs, Jodhpur Lancers (Rathore Army of Jodhpur, Raised by Sir Pratap Singh Rathore) and Hero of Haifa 'Major Dalpat Singh Shekhawat' and 'Captain Aman Singh Rathore(Jodha)':-

Edit - Below is the translation of Hebrew audio in English :

Over the city of Haifa hovers the story of the last cavalry battle in the history in which a fortified city was taken.I commanded over this battle. my name is Th Dalpat Singh.but unfortunately already in the first minutes of battle , i was mortally wounded.so how did i get the title " hero of haifa " ? I was born in a small village in the province of jodhpur. My father thakur Hari Singh came from a simple and poor family. But his polo skills caught the eyes of the founder of jodhpur polo team Sir Pratap Singh. Outstanding athletes and celebrities, were also the most courageous officers of the indian army.so,it was no surprise that Sir Pratap also established the cavalry regiment of jodhpur. My father became a commander in this battalion, thus our family got to be household members in Sir Pratap's home. When I was ten my dad died. They say he drank and drank ,until his body collapsed.Sir Pratap did not hesitate and took me under his wing.He even sent me to school in England.when I returned to jodhpur in 1912,i was also attached to the cavalry regiment of jodhpur. At the outbreak of the great war we were sent to help british in their struggle against Ottoman Empire ,Austro-Hungarian and German , and i found myself in Israel. We were getting ready for the battle of Haifa which was an important strategic objective after a successful conquest in the south of the country. As the British army had already set in Megiddo , we received Intel on ottoman forces evacuation of the city of Haifa. The British thought they will simply travel to the city and wave the flag of British empire. A small armored force headed by General A King sitting in an open Rolls Royce went into the city. The info turned out to be incorrect and the strange force was caught in the fire from which it got out just 4 hours later. The mission of occupation was then assigned to us , the Indian cavalry regiment.
Our battalion leader was busy on a remote task so I was assigned to lead the battalion. I knew I could bring great honor and pride to Sir Pratap . Although he was already in his 70s , he accompanied the regiment in all our travels . For me it was like my dad was here with me and I started preparing for a hard battle. Mysore battalion had split in the morning of Sept 23 and I was assigned to attack the City with two divisions but the terrain conditions made it quite difficult for the troops. On the one hand , the horses sank into the marshes in coastal area and on the other hand we encountered a steep slope strewn with boulders. It slowed down the movement of horses causing injuries. We crossed between the Kishonwadi and Carmel ridge. When we reached the crossing , we ran into the barrage of heavy artillery shells and already at this stage I was mortally wounded. I wanted to stand up and lead the troops despite the risks , despite the fear as I learned from Sir Pratap but I was paralyzed.
In a last effort , I managed to see How captain Aman Singh Jodha , 40 years old and one of the experienced commanders of the battalion recognized those who got me and raced attacking them directly on the horsebacks.
Equipped with Spears of three and half meters and carbines , my friends backed by a British unit continued their offense against the ottomans who were armed with machine guns and cannons. Against all odds Aman Singh Jodha and soldiers killed 80 ottoman soldiers and took 700 captive. An hour later , Haifa was in our hands.
But in the meantime my severe injuries overwhelmed me and I closed my eyes. On my death I was 25 . For Sir Pratap , the news about my death was hard . He took care of me all his life and so on my death thanks to him I was awarded the title "Hero of Haifa" . But the story of conquest of Haifa is certainly not a single hero's story.
Haifa is the last fortified City conquered by cavalry , brave Indian cavalry , among them , me too.(Rajputs of Rajasthan )
The Rajputs ಅವರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದಂದು ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಭಾನುವಾರ, ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 24, 2017

Hollywood even made movie on Leonidas, how come situation of Rawal Ratan Singh any different. People should know that Rani Padmini, The daughter of Rawal Punyapal Bhati of Poongal, Jaisalmer is not fiction. Her mother was from Sinhalwada, Rajasthan a small Chauhan Kingdom. Gora Singh Chauhan was her maternal uncle and Badal was her cousin. Are you still bent on believing Jayasi Story but ignore all Bards and folk literature and songs of Rajasthan. It used to take about 8 months to travel to Shri Lanka, during such circumstances Ratan Singh can't offord to go to Shri Lanka to marry some princess, considering Jauhar & Saka happened in 1301 at Ranthambore as well. Those who still claim Rani Padmini as fiction should know that there happened 3 Jauhars & Saka in Chittor and it's a historical fact, and even before that just 2 years ago in 1301, a Jauhar and Saka also took place in Ranthambore. (Please read about Hammirdev Chauhan, here's youtube video I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl0CouELQHU and also read about him in history books about 'Hathi Hammir or Hammir Dev Chauhan of Ranthambore')

Jayasi himself says that he has heard this historical story and writing a fictional account of It. Even Padmini story is mentioned in songs of Bards before Padmavat by Jayasi and also in Kshatriya Charit poem written 15 years prior to Padmavat by Jayasi. Reknowned Historian Dashrath Sharma defended Rani Padmini's existence was of the view that there are evidence to support her existence.

Bajirao-Mastani

Also he has shown Mastani as Rajput in his previous movie. Whom Rajputs don’t consider as Rajput. A child of Rajput father and Rajput mother is only considered as Rajputs. Chhatrasal Bundela was shown as nobody & Bajirao as mere lover. Chhatrasaal who singly established his own empire Bundelkhand and challanged Aurangzaib and remained ruling his kingdom victoriously without losing a battle and Bajirao who won 40+ battles.

Movie Ramlila & Ranvir's Remark about Padmavati Movie & his excitement to work with Deepika

In Ramlila he used name of Rajput clan which after opposition from Rajput community changed to Saneda and Razadi. And Ranvir Singh’s inappropriate remarks and disclosure that he is excited to work with deepika in this movie and they may shoot a dream sequence etc. which obviously I hope won’t be there after opposition from Rajputs. So it's also a point Rajputs do not trust Bhansali, he has lost it in his previous movies, and quite rightly so.

Conclusion

The Rajput community has every right to oppose this movie and has a say in it because it's their ancestors' story. All Rajputs are bound by blood. Rajputs have their unique culture and traditions, Rajasthan has its own language, beliefs, way of life and to portray it incorrectly is wrong. Some people say why didn't you oppose earlier? Well, we should have. If someone doesn't object to something, doesn't make it right. If you teach kids as 2+2=10; maybe you and I will find it okay, but it's likely that somebody won't want or like that. Also, I condemn the remarks made by some people from Rajput community towards Deepika. But It's also wrong on part of media that when they were protesting for past 18 months peacefully and occassional untoward instances, you didn't show that correctly. You deliberately pick people who can't represent Rajput community, you allowed them to enter your studios with weapons and then pretend to be surprised. And you judge whole Rajput community on the basis of comments and actions of few, literally. While you were disrespecting Rajputs, many of my brothers are protecting borders and many sacrificing their lives. BTW I don't know those two guys you bring everyday on debates and they're fool enough to come there, without understanding your agenda that you're generalizing the whole community. Never even heard about them, while I do respect sentiments of some of those people but I don't support their views or actions like issuing threats or using inappropriate language. Why are you not showing views of Royal Family of Mewar in this matter? Why are you not asking views of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore a Rajput politician, Rajnath Singh (Home Minister of India, a Rajput) or Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Because you've found bunch of people and you're set on your agenda to disrespect and tarnish honour of Rajputs and that's exactly why there is rage in Rajput community.

The Rajput race is the noblest and proudest in India, they are of highest antiquity and purest descent, they have a military autocracy of a feudal type, and "brave and chivalrous, keenly sensitive to an affront, and especially jealous of the honour of their women".
— Lt.Col. James Tod in Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan

If devotion to the fair sex be admitted as a criterion of civilization, the Rajpoot must rank high. His susceptibility is extreme, and fires at the slightest offense to female delicacy, which he never forgives.
— Lt.Col. James Tod in Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan

Thus this movie "Padmavati" needs to be opposed and all inappropriate things need to be removed.
Some also say that it's just a movie. Well, Mughal-e-Azam was also just a movie and purely fictional at that. All people of India are not educated and don't want to be educated and especially not in History. Movies and News Channels are their primary source of education & information. It's India, not America, and even Americans can choose Trump as their president. And there's new trend in Media i.e. write opposite news, fake news with distorted facts and hurt people, what offends gets more views.

Also, too much pride and trust in democratic processes is not a good thing for the people, it maybe good for the democracy but not for the people, our country and society and thus eventually not good for the democratic system. Such people who participate in debates without knowing much about Rajputs should be aware that they're here talking about history of Rajputs, who've sacrificed lakhs of lives and ruled for more than thousand years, some clans ruled many thousand years. Whereas democracy hasn't yet completed a century. We all know how our judicial system, police and politicians actually usually function.

Rajputs do have highest regard for country & its people and respect it immensely and are always willing to sacrifice life for the country & its people and nothing can takeaway that attitude especially from a common Rajput. But do they have the same respect for the democracy? I feel they mostly don't, and not even actually accept it whole-heartedly or remain unconcerned with it. Though some Rajput might actually not openly agree to it or even oppose my this view. But I think it's somewhat actually right especially in present circumstances and lots of reasons have led to this attitude towards democracy and they're losing trust in BJP or Congress or any other party because none of them addresses Rajput community's concerns and issues and Rajputs feel that they're not gaining much from current system of governance and their community is lagging behind and now honour of their forefathers and history is under attack by Idiots and so these events, oppositions, rallies, gatherings of Rajputs are just modes of outbursts. And political parties and policies of this country and media are responsible for it. And it's also entirely possible that Padmavati movie is just in line of fire of Rajputs and this opposition actually against Bollywood in general and combined outcome of lots of things which they've wrongly portrayed and Rajput community let those slide in the past and they won't let that happen in future. To other people it may or maynot make much difference, but to Rajputs it means a lot. Rajputs may not go to such extent for even getting other political advantages or even for reservations, But when it comes to honour, a common Rajput is always willing to sacrifice everything for it because many just only have name & honour of the clan and sword of ancestors as their sole ancestral property. Media & Politicians would need to be wise in this matter and handle this Padmavati issue with care and it needs utmost sincerity & honesty of all people involved.

It'd really great on part of Mr. Bhansali if he shows a great story on which every Indian can be proud of. I also appreciate if at the end of Movie he also shows victory of Rana Hammir and reconquering of Chittor by Guhilots(Sisodia). Let's hope that this movie becomes a matter of pride and not a blot. The Rajput community would hail Mr. Bhansali if he does the right thing this time and don't hurt Rajput sentiments.

The duality in the Rajput character was really astonishing. It's a song which is filled with sweetness, grace, admiration and most of all innocence. 'Ghoomar' is a dance form of Marwar, which ladies do by doing swirls/circular rotations. This song is about Rajput girl growing up and what she asks from her mother and she tells her mother about her desires. She tells her mother that she wants a Rathore(राठौड़) boy to be her husband. She tells by various verses how much she adores/admires Rathores. Ghoomar is performed on many celebrations and especially at weddings in Rajput families.

(Note: This blog is about Original Ghoomar folk song and not about Padmavati movie's Song Ghoomar. Read my other blogs to know how I feel about the movie and padmavati's ghoomar song. Anyway, here I am writing about lyrics and meaning of Original Ghoomar folk song. I hope you'll like it.)

Ghoomar/Ghumar: Ghoomar is a Dance form of Marwar. The Girl/Princess(In this song she is most likely from Kachwaha clan/ Sisodia clan of Rajputs) requests her mother(Queen) that she wants to perform/play ghoomar, which also implies that she wants to be married in Rathore clan (Rathore is a Suryavanshi 'Solar Dynasty' Rajput clan, founder of Marwar state and ruler of Marwar from its foundation till independence). Ghoomar got much more popular throughout Rajputana, and can now effectively be called as a dance form of Rajasthan.

Before performing ghoomar, ladies bow holding "Pallu" in their palms and respect elders, relatives e.g. Mother-In-Laws and Mata Ji(Goddess). Dance is performed with other ladies and audience is also mostly ladies. Men usually stay away and don't usually indulge in watching the dance, because when Ghoomar is performed there's usually celebration in home and men indulge in other entertainments among men, doing manwar and welcome family members and managing lots of things that goes into doing the smooth management of things. Lyrics of this folk song are given below the video, play video, keep it playing and skip to read the lyrics of Ghoomar, it'll help you understand the lyrics.

Ghoomar Lyrics

O.. The Language used in this song is not Marwari but is very similar to which is spoken in Dhundhad(Amer, Jaipur) or Udaipur(Some Gujarati touch). Which suggests she is from Dhundad/Udaipur and most likely a Kachwaha/Sisodia Rajput. The girl is young and she is growing up and she explains her little demands to her mother, queen. She tells that her life is very simple, she is very beautiful and pretty that she can bewitch anyone. She yet asks for very simple things. At the start she asks that she wants to play, and asks for sweets. While playing she finds Kajal-Tiki(Make-up) and starts thinking about her suitable match. She asks for Kaajal-Tiki (Make-up), tells how much she adores Rathores.

Now She has grown enough that her parents might be looking for suitable match for her. So she tells them that she doesn't wants to marry outside of Rajputana(Rajasthan). Because that would mean that she would see her family less often.
Then the girl tell her heart's desire for her match. She tells her mother that she wants to be married in the Rathore House. Because Rathores have lovely boli(dialect, 'Marwari'). Which implies She believes that Rathores are lovely people who take good care of their ladies and respect them immensely.

She tells her mother that she wants to be married only to a Rathore boy. And How much she Adores and what she likes about Rathores(Rajput Clan)

Note: Rathore/Rathod/Rathaur/Rathor is a Suryavanshi(Solar Dynasty) Rajput clan, founder of Marwar state and ruler of Marwar from its foundation till independence. So what makes Rathore Rajputs so special, read following two folk poem on Rathore Rajputs below. First is "Marudhar Desh", it is about Rathores, their Marwar state and its culture and second is about warrior prowess of Rathores, It's called "Ranbanka Rathore".

(Invincible Warrior in Battle/ None can surpass Rathores as Warrior in Battle)

Hope you've liked "Ghoomar Folk Song", its lyrics and their meanings. Which includes blogger, wordpress, jekyll, octopress, ghost and few others. And In this post I'm going to summarize my experiances with Wordpress, Octopress and Ghost.

Wordpress:

Highly customisable and lots of plugins. You think about something and you'll find a plugin for doing almost anything. But personally I also find this to be its downside. I end up screwing many of my blogs and it's not secure and updating every major release of wordpress and its plugins is a big headache. And these updates are frequent updates. Security is also an issue. And hosting it on WordPress.com is bit costly. And what it offers as default is ugly and bloated. Every Tom, Dick and Harry is using wordpress. WordPress was used by more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites as of January 2015. Which says that it's well tested.

I find wordpress content editor boring and cluttered. I am not a fan of wysiwyg editors or rich text editors, I prefer markdown. But there may be some plugin to change that in wordpress via plugins. And I'm not a fan of wordpress plugins and their frequent updates as stated earlier.

It looks simple and easy. And one click installers of many hosting providers makes it look even simpler but it's not actually. Design is not about adding more but about removing what's not required. And in no way wordpress is simple. To be honest wordpress is no longer a simple blogging platform, it's a full-fledged CMS(content management system) with lots of extra with stuff you may actually not need but may be useful in future. If blogging is all you need, you should skip wordpress.

Jekyll/Octopress:

It was my favorite method for few months and then I moved my data. And moving data wasn't easy as it's all static files. It was good considering I can write content in my favourite code editor atom/sublime and push it to github. Github pages hosts it for free. But then I wanted to customise certain aspects of my blog and I had to code parts of it in ruby and still the output was not something pleasing. It's a pretty simple method of blogging: write something and push code to github without opening web browser. And it's secure since there is only html files on server and it's fast, it's just static files. But it lacks ease of use and not suitable for everyone and you need to be familier with terminal, git and github.

You may also look for other static site generators like Hugo Etc.

Ghost:

Ghost is peace of mind. It's beautiful. It's breathtakingly simple, clean and what it offers as default is all I needed for my personal blog. Admin panel is even more beautiful. You have to understand a bit of markdown though, I already knew markdown since I used octopress earlier. So I picked up ghost as a platform. Markdown is clean and simple and not hard to learn.

Ghost is future web. Ghost roadmap. Ghost runs on node.js and community is good as well. Ghost by default offers schema.org using application/ld+json. So it's good at SEO. And most themes which I've seen are beautiful. Ghost themes. Overall Ghost is minimalistic, simple and fast. And also the fact that not everybody is using ghost makes it even more better and appealing. Just open the source code of this post and it's beautiful. I haven't tested it on very high traffic though. But considering it's node.js and node is known to handle large traffic and simultaneous users, I don't think there'll be any issue. I haven't encountered any issue with ghost so far and I'm not expecting any in future as well.

So Since, I chose ghost, and if you like my blog and if you want this sort of blog and you too choose ghost, then lets host it somewhere.

Hosting Ghost: Recommended method.

Ghost hosting is not cheap, It's way too costly. Consider this song as if Maru is calling her lover Dhola. Or to be exact the wife is missing her Dhola(Husband), who was fighting wars far from home. He is now now returning home, So she is preparing to welcome her husband "A Rajput Warrior" to come back to her, to his own home. Kesariya Balam is a perfect example of Rajputana Royal folk song.

Most people do not know the correct meaning of this song and why is it even special. They just think that the 'Kesariya Balam' song can be used to invite everyone to come and visit Rajputana. While it's actually about Rajput Warrior's return and his welcome in his own home. In Rajputana, only Rajputs used to take part in wars and they would die protecting their land and honour. Kesariya, saffron color represents sacrifice, bravery, purity. That is why they mostly wear Kesariya Safa(Turban) and specifically on Ceremonial occasions. Rajputs besides Kesariya also wear chundadi, leahariya and rarely white safa. Other castes in Rajputana mostly wear white, green etc. Other castes or tribes do not wear kesariya safa, it's exclusive color of safa of Rajputs. And thus kesariya color became symbolic of Rajputs. Rajputs used kesariya color in their clothing, dress, safa and even coloring buildings, architecture etc. Many folk songs of Rajasthan have references to Rajputs or are based on Rajput tales of heroism, bravery, sacrifice, traditions, culture or romance, such as moomal, kesariya banna, ghoomar, jad dekhu banna ri lal pili akhiyan, kallali, Bhalo Chinayo Bhatio, Dhola Maru and many more.

Over time after independence people changed the original composition and they modified the lyrics completely. Only keeping the words kesariya balam. Some of these songs sung by some famous singers and just repeat Kesariya Balam on loop with a lot of aalap, there is nothing else to it. They specifically remove the verses which references "Ran mithi Talwar', so that it can be used as a song of invitation for everybody, and thus it creates a confusion about the meaning of kesariya balam. The current situation is that current generation doesn't even know what Kesariya balam means. They take the meaning literally. that's kesar means saffron and balam means lover. But it's much more deeper than that. It represents Rajput Love, sacrifice, desert, culture and folklores of Rajputana. To know more about Rajputs please read below quotes

Some quotes about Rajputs of Rajputana

The duality in the Rajput character was really astonishing. On the one hand he was a grim warrior, forever ready to draw his sword taking the cruelty, horror and pain of war in his stride. People say that they are keeping folk music alive by remixing it, modifying its story, context and even lyrics. I think that is the perfect way of destroying something of historical importance, be it culture, heritage or traditions. And folk music is india's heritage and it should be presented without modification in its soul or essence. And if this editing continues it'll create confusion, ultimately destroying folk music.

Some song recommendations:

Ghoomar

Pundela

Panihari

Baisa Ra Beera

Kallali

Moomal

Savariyo Ghat Mayi

Kesariya Banna

Lal Peeli Akhiyan

I hope you liked this post. The due date was Nov 10, 2019, and it was generated on Oct 20th. So, I thought I should pay some of it now... and then I paid Rs. 40,000/- on Oct 26 and then I paid Rs. 29,339/- on Nov 7 and forgot to pay remaining Rs. 10,000/- on the due date, I later paid that too by crediting my account by paying Rs. 14400/- on Nov 15. So, I've paid more than I should have. However, the Axis Bank debited my account by Rs. 4628/- as interest on non-payment of the bill on time... WHAT?? It was shocking and absurd? Later, I came to know that they charge 3.4% p.m. as interest on unpaid amount every time some amount of bill paid... But it is completely unfair because I have paid it before due date and remaining amount on the due date was only 10000/- and then I credited my credit card with remaining amount plus some amount also but they still debited the interest for the whole unpaid amount, while on the due date the remaining amount was only 10000/- and I think should've only deducted the tax on this amount which would have been only Rs. 340/- whereas they deducted for the whole amount that would have been only Rs. 2697/- but they deducted even more amount and there's no explanation for that.

I even called the customer care (which is now paid btw and you may have to wait and waste a lot of time) and the customer care guy understood my issue and said what you're saying is fair we'll refund the amount in 5 days, but they didn't. I called again and this time they said their team will call me in 24-48 Hrs but they didn't and then I chatted on their website. The conversation is below which I saved as pdf from their chat menu. However, for ease of access, I'm pasting the whole conversation below. And decide for yourself, how unfair their policies are. Even this support lady understood my issue but I guess axis bank has a policy of no refund. By their logic, If I had paid my amount in even more segments, my interest they would've deducted may even cross my bill amount.

What I learned from this is that I shouldn't use a single credit card for all transactions and look for in statement if the bank is deducting the unfair interest. I'm not sure if other banks also have such policies or not? If not, I would use that card and not recommend using Axis Bank Credit Card. Their support staff picks call quickly and reaching to them and chatting with them is good though, but what's the use of that if they can't support the customer in their genuine concern.

And if somebody is a lawyer, please file a case against such unfair practices of these banks.

Chat Transcript of Conversation with Axis Bank Support team member Anitha:

Note: Their chat system is buggy, as soon as I used punctuation mark it was closing on me so I had to form my sentences without it. I am Anitha, how may I assist you?

Me

even though i have paid most of the amount bill before due date

Me

I was charged for the non payment

ANITHA

Let me check.

ANITHA

Debit Interest charges are calculated due to partial payments made or non-receipt of payments towards your Credit Card.

but i have paid about 90 percent of the amount before due date

I should not be charged for the whole amount of bill

ANITHA

If the full payment not received then the debit interest charges will be charged.

The remaining amount was only 10000

Me

you have deducted interest for 79000

ANITHA

The interest rate of 3.40 % p.m is applicable on your credit card whenever there is a part payment made by you for your purchases.

Me

so i should never pay in advance

at the time of due date I had very less amount remaining

Me

ask any person with common sense that will tell that it is unfair

ANITHA

I Because we don't use it often It's likely that we may forget it. I set it once and I forgot. It was different than Pin Code I enter to open device. So I tried Searching on Google with "Forgot Restrictions Passcode" and "Recover Restrictions Passcode" as I hope you are doing. But Not all results were great, except few. I found the solution and It worked for me and I hope it will for you as well. You can Try following Approaches. I Did the following things to recover restrictions passcode.

Step1: Take a backup of your iOS device

Please do a backup of your iOS device without encryption, I didn't try with encryption, So I recommend you to take backup of your device without encryption.

Step2: Recover restrictions passcode from the backup

Now you have following two solutions/tools you can use to recover the passcode, I used both of these approached and both of them worked. the second approach is faster and I recommend you to use that, it'll save some time. but you can use whichever you prefer.

1. iBackupBot

Download iBackupBot, and follow instructions given in below Video.

Embedded iFrame

You need to get restrictions.Plist file, mine is below

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

I do read blogs, articles and even documentations of software but not novels. But this week I read "The Perks of being a Wallflower". The last novel which I read was The Alchemist. Written by Stephen Chbosky, "The Perks of being a Wallflower" is really a fantastic book.

I think I can relate to charlie somewhere. I think a lot many can relate to him. The small little nitty gritty details about people which you notice and don't write, is written in this book. Most people are too obsessed with themselves and their life that they ignore what's happening around them.

Charlie is this kid who knows what's happening around him and he keeps quite about them, he introspects and he understands. He's a Wallflower.

Charlie is not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it.

I learned a lot from this book, but most importantly I learned that it's okay to feel things and be who you are about them.

I also learned few new english words. Nice addition to my English vocab. I'm an Indian guy so my english is not that good. These words are valedictorian, silhouette, vented, primping, bleachers, corny and sorority.

Language is fluent. Small and large letters with all details. Letters always establish some sort of bond. They feel personal and touch reader's heart.

I probably quote the whole book but still I'm mentioning some quotes below.

Few Quotes from "The Perks of being a Wallflower" which I admire:-

I just think it's bad when a boy looks at a girl and thinks that the way he sees the girl is better than the girl actually is. And I think it's bad when the most honest way a boy can look at a girl is through a camera. It's very hard for me to see Sam feel better about herself just because an older boy sees her that way.

I just hope I remember to tell my kids that they are as happy as I look in my old photographs.

So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.

Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.

Charlie, We accept the love we think we deserve.

I think that if I ever have kids, and they are upset, I won't tell them that people are starving in China or anything like that because it wouldn't change the fact that they were upset. And even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn't really change the fact that you have what you have.

Sometimes people use thought to not participate in life.

Be skeptical ablout this one. It's a great book. But try to be a filter, not a sponge.

“We didn't talk about anything heavy or light. We were just there together. And that was enough”

And I guess I realized at that moment that I really did love her. Because there was nothing to gain, and that didn't matter.

I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I'm telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.

If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am. And I don't want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I can feel it, too. I want them to be able to do whatever they want around me.

Maybe it's good to put things in perspective, but sometimes, I think that the only perspective is to really be there. Like Sam Said. Because it's okay to feel things. And be who you are about them.

Charlie's mixtape

Asleep by the Smiths

Vapour Trail by Ride

Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel

A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum

Dear Prudence by the Beatles

Gypsy by Suzanne Vega

Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues

Daydream by Smashing Pumpkins

Dusk by Genesis (before Phil Collins was even in the band!)

MLK by U2

Blackbird by the Beatles

Landslide by Fleetwood Mac

Asleep by the Smiths (again!)

Going to download these songs and listen. Highlighting, taking notes and bookmarks, checking definitions of words... it's really great. Good start!

And The next book which I'm going to read is by Jean-Paul Sartre, Nausea. It's a gift from a friend. I hopefully start reading it this week.

Well done, Stephen Chbosky. Sankaragana's Abhona plates speak of his father Krishnaraja's "illustrious" lineage.

Their capital Mahismati was situated in the Narmada River valley.

The Kalachuri Empire was the name used by two kingdoms who had a succession of dynasties from the 10th-12th centuries, one ruling over areas in Central India (west Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan) and were called Chedi or Haihaya (Heyheya) (northern branch-Kalchuri Rajput Clan) and the other the southern Kalachuri who ruled over parts of Karnataka. They are supposed to be offshoot of Abhira of Traikutakas dynasty.

18 centuries ago Haihaya/Hariobans/Hayobans/Haiha Rajput clan was extremely powerful and held all the eastern parts of what is now known as central provinces. There they founded the city of Maheswati, Raipur and Ratanpur and furnished the latter with a dynasty which ruled over Chattisgarh for 32 generations. Haihaya is a Lunar Dynasty Rajput clan.

Other minor historical references :

When the movie starts it shows a cave. The similar birth did take place in reality in Guhilot Dynasty.
The Guhilot Dynasty derives its name from guha 'a cave', because one of the wives of the Rana of Meywar, escaping from the sack of Balabhi in 524 AD took refuse among some Brahmans, and was delivered of a son in the cave. The boy was called Goha or 'cave-born' by his protectors, and his descendants bear the title of Guhilot, Grahilot or Gahlot. Rana Pratap was from this same dynasty. Guhilot Dynasty also known as sisodiya dynasty.

Bahubali as King
The story of Bahubali raised by tribals appears to be taken from the life of Maharana Pratap. The jealous queens of Udai Singh forced Maharana Pratap to live in a village below the ridge of Chittorgarh.

Rani Dheer Bai wanted her son Jagmal to succeed Udai Singh, but the seniors in the royal court preferred Pratap, as the eldest son, to be their king. Udai Singh proclaimed his favorite son, 'Jagmal' to be the successor. But surprisingly, in a coronation performed at Gogunda, Maharana Pratap was crowned, and hailed as the "King of Mewar". It's also similar to Ramayana when Bharat was declared as King but people wanted Rama as their king being the eldest Son. The difference is Bharat was good brother and held his brother in high regard. So Bahubali's story is more similar to Rana Pratap's case. In Bahubali climax, Bijjaladevā(Nasser) says his son should be the king, but Shivagami(Ramya Krishna) announces Bahubali to be the king and people start hailing him as the King of 'Mahishmati'.

Rajput Customs & Traditions: Sword Marriage, Dresses & Safa, Salutations And the biggest reference that it’s influenced by Rajput customs and traditions such as marriage with swords. In Rajput community, when matrimonial alliance is formed with less powerful house which can spend much in marriage ceremonies or when the groom is busy fighting wars elsewhere then Sword marriage is preferred. Some weaker Rajput families still prefer sword ceremony marriage as it saves them from expenditures of marriage, this sword marriage ceremony is still practiced in Rajputs of Saurashtra. Although it's not common and preferred only by financially weaker Rajput communities or when there is difference amongst the financial status of two families. And Groom's family do not want to burden the family of bride of this expenditure.

Cutting Head of Minister in Court On the Ground that the Minister has disrespected the ladies, Bahubali cuts the head off in the full court. This event takes historical reference to how Amar Singh Rathore did in Court of Shah Jahan, when he cut the head of Salabat Khan who happens to be relative of Shah Jahan as well. In the case of Amar Singh Rathore, other courtiers and warriors attack him, but Amar Singh Rathore kills them too and run off and was able to successfully escape with his horse, he jumps off from the fort with his horse. Similar to how Arjun brought Dropadi. Shouldn't he be paid extra for doing the job of selectors as well ;)

If only MS Dhoni selects team by your logic then He selected Yuvraj in 2011 worldcup and Yuvi was not in good form prior to that and yet he trusted him and yuvi didn't let down his captain either. At that time people were complaining why Dhoni is favoring yuvi. Mr. Yograj did you send your blessings to Dhoni then.

And Dhoni again selected him for world t20 and because of yuvi's bad form india lost t20 worldcup final. People pelted stones at yuvraj's house and even then dhoni didn't blamed him for the defeat in post match presentation.

You should also checkout this link
MS Dhoni defends underfire Yuvraj Singh, says he tried his best

And I don't think Dhoni or selectors picked Yuvraj at that time because they wanted to do favor to him. But probably because he was an asset and important irreplaceable person at that time. He went through bad phase and couldn't make it to team india and when selected performed badly. Hopefully he'll come back. I wish he does come back. Dhoni too probably wish his team mate and friend Yuvraj to do well. It's not personal. Who knows what happpens in selection meeting.

If Dhoni did have an influence in not selecting yuvraj, even then he did the right thing. If Dhoni and selectors starts taking advice, he will end up with a team which will go out in round one. Probably Dhoni did not find yuvraj suitable for his current scheme or plans for worldcup considering Yuvraj's current form in international cricket.

In Dhoni's captaincy I see team mates enjoying each others' success. If Kohli hits a century, Raina is equally happy for him and so does other players.

Yuvraj was not in probable 30 for worldcup team and after selecting probable 30, he performed in ranji which cannot be compared with international cricket, but still by then it's too late. You can't throw someone out because suddenly yuvraj performed in some ranji match.

Stop blaming Dhoni. The Guy is doing great for the country. If he does good you say it's luck and if something goes wrong you blame him, even for things he is not directly or indirectly responsible. He won world T20, took team to world T20 final again, won ICC Cricket world cup and champions trophy.

He is batting down the order to support other players and build a strong fit team, a team which enjoys each others success, which has belief in themselves and each other. Dhoni is a great player and has highest average playing at number 3.

You say Dhoni didn't hit 50 or century. Do you really expect him to hit century in last five overs. It's always hard for new player who just comes to pitch. He is a human too. But he still does super humanly. As long as he is on pitch, people have hope that India can win. If you want him to score century kohli should come after him and dhoni should bat at number three. Because clearly Dhoni has higher average than kohli at number 3. But then who will do the job of finisher.

and Here's Dhoni's ODI career stats:
Matches 255, Innings 223, NO 64, Runs 8280, Highest score 183*, Average 52.07, Strike rate 88.91, centuries 9, fifties 56, 4s 644, sixes 178, catches 232, st 85

In this team, players have defined roles. If they play their roles well then that's great for the team. Stats doesn't matter, Team does, Nation does.

He gives importance to team interest than his own numbers.

He retired from test cricket at 90 tests and few runs short of 5000 runs in test cricket. Clearly he doesn't give a damn to his personal stats. He gives more importance to players who can win matches on a given day whether they have good stats or not. For e.g. Ajinkya Rahane is good player which cannot be judged solely based on his stats, he is much better player than what his stats says.

People blame Ravindra Jadeja and thinks that he shouldn't be in the team. But he is essential for team india. He breaks partnerships and takes crucial wickets. He is ranked as the No.1 bowler in ODI Cricket by the ICC in August 2013. Jadeja is the first India bowler to top the rankings since Anil Kumble, who topped the table in 1996. He is the fourth India bowler after Kapil Dev, Maninder Singh and Kumble to be ranked No. 1.

In current situation Yuvraj doesn't fit to replace anyone unless Ajinkya opens and rohit sit outside of the team and Yuvraj comes in. But that's selectors decide not MS Dhoni. People say that there are lot many CSK players in team. But truth is they are good plays and Dhoni has good tuning with them and probably CSK performs well and that's why team India performs well. Good players should play for India. That's the best thing to do.

For a good team fitness is important. Even Ireland is beating experienced
teams.

Yuvraj's father got over emotional and parents can do that. The bad thing is people and media is giving it importance. Even Yuvraj doesn't agree to his father's views. Yuvraj is a strong person. If he wanted to say against Dhoni he could've said it himself. Timing is also really bad as well.

God bless MS Dhoni and his team so that they can perform upto their abilities.

Please support team India and Dhoni.

WeWontGiveItBack :)

A proud MS Dhoni fan,

Snapdeal Nov 11 sale sucked! wasted my whole day

I had a terrible and frustrating experience with snapdeal today. I saw the advertisement in the newspaper and noticed that sale on electronic items will start on 12:00AM, that's really helpful thing. And it's only nice thing that they did. I was anxiously waiting, I'm already logged in and on the product page of iPhone 5s(gold) and doing refresh every few seconds. and then it showed above 40% discount on iPhone 5s(gold). Yay!

I knew that other iPhone colors will not be available on sale and I was right. only gold was on sale.

I clicked on buy button and it was not responding. I opened console and noticed 503(service unavailable) and 504(Gateway timeout) errors.
Without loosing patience I kept trying and refreshing the page and it worked. Finally, iPhone was in my cart. but it was showing sold out in place of quantity. Being an optimistic person, I kept trying hacks And kept trying and there you go now it shows a 1 in place of quantity and I'm on checkout page to enter address. It's like "Aasman se gira to khajoor me atka"

After an hour or so, I retried and I was able to increase the quantity and it's showing 2 iphones for 62,000/- and that is really great but I'm still not able to go to payment page and my address is still not saved.

While writing this post, I wondered I should give a final try. Website looks nice.. and I was surprised. Webpage hangs and slow server response time(1.1 seconds), pageload speed varies from 5 sec to 60 seconds(12 seconds being average). References to the tests are given below this post.

Accidently when you do get successful signup, mail arrives in your spam folder.. Again a hallmark of govt websites and govt professionals. So, You can be sure that you are indeed on a govt. website.

This Idea of listening public opinion is nice but implementation sucks... that is my first opinion. And I am expressing this opinion on my own blog instead of expressing it on MyGov website because I couldn't log in.

It should be easy to signup/login. There is no need to be too much focused on security and doing silly things. Images are good, language used on website is nice and friendly. But Technically it sucks. Make it usable first. I think there are some more serious flaws in the code not just the optimization.

“A great lathe operator commands several times the wage of an average lathe operator, but a great writer of software code is worth 10,000 times the price of an average software writer.” — Bill Gates

MyGov dev team needs few such developers who challenge themselves and are exceptionally good. Most govt. professional just do what they must do and not what they should do. Ultimately they end up doing things which they shouldn't do. For example, what is the use of captcha when you can't even implement it well and user can't even signup. Internet connection in India is patchy, they should try to keep the webpage size under few kbs. If this website is intended to be used by public on regular basis then they should've atleast optimized the website before lauching it.

My advice to developer team of MyGov website: Remove that captcha from signup page. It's very irritating. Also you are asking users to choose a password which has special characters, numbers, capital and small letters... it's idiotic. It gives a pseudo feeling of security and make people fake believe in security when there is none. Your website is not even using SSL. I'm afraid that on this website users' information is not safe. Optimize your website, improve your code. And try to hire few exceptionally good programmers to do the job and not the army of incompetent programmers.

The website is not even usable forget about security.

"It is amazing how much can be accomplished if no one cares who gets the credit." - John Wooden

Thanks!

References

Page load speed and analysis of MyGov.nic.in by gtmetrix

Page Load speed and analysis of MyGov.nic.in by Pingdom

Uncertain Observer

Heisenberg and Schrödinger get pulled over for speeding.

It illustrates what he saw as the problem of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics applied to everyday objects. The scenario presents a cat that may be both alive and dead, this state being tied to an earlier random event. Although the original "experiment" was imaginary, similar principles have been researched and used in practical applications. The thought experiment is also often featured in theoretical discussions of the interpretations of quantum mechanics. In the course of developing this experiment, Schrödinger coined the term Verschränkung (entanglement).

In quantum mechanics, the uncertainty principle is any of a variety of mathematical inequalities asserting a fundamental limit to the precision with which certain pairs of physical properties of a particle known as complementary variables
]

What happened to Indian TV shows?

Deteriorating quality of Indian Television shows and their possible impact on general mentality and thinking of the people.

Opinion

TV

Raj Rathore

I was switching TV channels and happened to be on ZeeTV accidently.
This show was showing some guy burning restaurent of a girl to take revenge of an insult.. another similar type of show is Madhubala which is on Colors. I may or may not understand politics much but I think that politicians' speeches
and work should be considered as their examination copies.

I draw following conclusions from their speeches:

I may or may not understand politics much but I think that politicians' speeches and work should be considered as their examination copies.

I draw following conclusions from their speeches:

Rahul Gandhi: Thinks that people of India are fools or atleast his target audience is less educated. That is why in his speeches he tries to teach people or more appropriately to his party men surrounding him.
I don't know If he knows what he's talking about... here is Cyrus Broacha's take on Rahul Gandhi...LOL!!

He resigned from a great opportunity which was given to him. {"In trying to prove himself right, he proved those wrong who trusted him and voted for him"} and then he resigned on a issue. I don't want to tell my opinion about every idea he has in mind, everytime... that's his referendum bullshit... I have other things to do... We choose/trust government to do work for us...

Narendra Modi: Thinks that people of india have potential to make India shine on world canvas. He thinks that people of india are smart, intelligent and not bechara. If given a chance people can achieve incredible things. He favours entreprenuership and business... {"If India has to grow, India needs something similar to Silicon Valley"}..
So far India is obsessed with jobs and govt. job psychology to the extreme level... His idea of minimum government, maximum governence is also really awesome approach..

People have come up with statistics in favour or to oppose him, Oxford mathematician Peter Donnelly reveals the common mistakes humans make in interpreting statistics — and the devastating impact these errors can have on the outcome of criminal trials, watch this ted talk.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”- Buddha

A positive environment and thinking is necessory for India. So, Narendra Modi became a clear choice... Now the following question arises

Vote for local candidate or the party/PM candidate?

I think we should vote for Party/PM candidate and not just the candidate unless the candidate is really unworthy/ criminal or corrupt, because:

The Area which comes under the M.P. is too large and even if the candidate says that he will do work and development etc.., He can't do much..yes he can do some work.
I think it's more of the responsibility of the State Government and local authority.

So the role of M.P. is to know his surrounding, have an idea about needs and problems of the people and give his opinion on the matter. That way he plays some part in policy making and voting on the bills, theoretically. But as we know MPs mostly support their party whether his individual opinion is against the bill.

Thus the real work is done by some ministers and key members of the government/party i.e. Prime Minister & his team.

So I thought, I should vote for good government, good PM based on their stated/ unstated policies.

What did you think before voting and whom did you choose? and if you are going to vote.. who are you going to choose and why?

Hitachi Ace Reidan is a hot and cold air conditioner and will work in winters while Ace cutout takes a sleep in winter. The difference is Ace reidan reverses the cycle and provide hot air when switched to hot mode.

The difference in favor of ace cutout is that it has a energy star rating of 5 while Ace Reidan is still unrated probably because it's a new model.

But It seems like there is not much difference between the two ACs.
Ace Reidan with stabilizer, installation and a bit of electricity fitting, cost us around 48,500/- INR. Ace cutout costs a few thousand less.

Winter is coming!
