Although, I\ndon't think that there will be any scene between Allaudin Khilji and Padmavati\nespecially after such opposition from Rajput community, not even in a dream. But\nI also think that a Director has the power of perception and certain control on\nhow the story is actually portrayed.\nEg. He can portray Khilji in a certain manner like how Shahrukh was portrayed in\nBaajigar, i.e. A negative character may get liked or remembered more. Here a\nnegative character will have so much screen presence that people will feel that\nKhilji was awesome. And people may say when coming out of cinema hall \"Kya role\nplay kiya h ranvir ne aur shahid lagega ki kya lallu tha.\" instead of saying\n\"how great was the sacrifice of Padmavati and Rajput Warriors\". To make such a\ngreat sacrifice as a mere topic of entertainment would be wrong.\n\nAlso, I personally feel that the casting is not up to the mark. Why Mr. Bhansali\nneeded Ranveer to play the role of Khilji? this could’ve been easily avoided and\nthus also the controversy. If he did, then he should've clarified that there'll\nbe no scene between Deepika and him, at the start. It's the responsibility of\nthe Director.\n\nPlease watch following video which explains history of Rani Padmini, Jauhar &\nSaka. I'm sharing it because Media ignores the Saka (Resolve of the Rajput\nWarriors to fight till their last breath, in that Saka 30000 Rajput Warriors\ndied against Khilji)\n\nSaka: when warriors put ashes of their dead family members on their forehead,\nwear Kesariya(Saffron) Safa(Turbon), put tulsi leaf & gangajal in mouth and\nstorm out at enemy to fight to their death, killing as many enemies as they can\nand die valiantly. Because they have nothing left behind to go back to, they all\nfight till their last breath. In Last Saka at Chittor against Akbar, 8000\nRajputs died killing 40000 Warriors of Akbar.\n\nCelebrating Khilji is like celebrating Hitler\nThese snippets are from \"TÁRÍKH-I 'ALÁÍ also known as KHAZÁÍNU-L FUTÚH, by AMÍR\nKHUSRÚ \" who was the contemporary of Alauddin and is very well known historian\n...i fail to understand why media is hell-bent on eulogizing a cruel man of the\npast? what message do they want to give?\n\n\nPadmavati: Ghoomar is not Ghoomar\nThe Ghoomar of Padmavati is not appropriate, especially the dress and movements\nof Padmavati and can't even be called as Ghoomar. Rajput women do not dress that\nway even today in Rajasthan, also even Thakurani(Wife of the feudal lord) don’t\ndance. In some places ladies stand up when \"Thakurani sa\" walks in, I’ve seen\nmyself. And here he has shown Padmavati dancing, a Queen.\n\nThat could've been fine as well if the dance was a little more graceful and the\ndress was nice especially considering some of the background artists are wearing\nappropriate dresses in the Padmavti's Ghoomar Song. So Mr. Bhansali was aware of\nwhat actually are Rajput customs and dress is but he didn’t choose to show. Why\nfilmmakers have the belief that truth won't be liked and they need to resort to\nall standard tactics which Bollywood generally use.\n\nThe line in lyrics of Ghoomar “ralak reet sab jag ki chhod kar Ghoomar ghoomar\nghoome”\nIt means, “I’ve discarded all of traditions and customs of family and I’m doing\nGhoomar”. I don't think these lines are suitable for a Queen who has sacrificed\nherself to safeguard her and her family's honour.\n\nRajputs and various communities of Rajasthan or even various races of the world\nhave their unique culture, customs and traditions, and if you can't portray that\nwell, then you should not take up such a task.\n\nSo, Rajputs are absolutely right in opposing this movie, especially when they\ncan clearly see mistakes in what's just a small part of trailer and songs. If\nthat contains mistakes, then how many mistakes are there in the whole movie.\n\nIf you do Katthak and call it Bharatnatyam or do Bharatnatyam and call it\nGhoomar would it be okay. It isn't.\n\nThe way bhansali presented the Ghoomar Song is misappropriation of a living\nculture, and neglects the customs and protocols followed by Rajput community,\nalso depiction of Ghoomar is historicaly inaccurate. It's not a dance form of\nMewar but a dance form of Marwar.\n\nBhansali's Movie Generalizes Rajput clans\nThe Rajput community has 36 Major Kshatriya Clans, these clans greatly varied in\npower and influence. Although they do share the same community, its moral values\nand beliefs but they do have certain differences which are unique to each clan\nincluding Origin of the clan and they even have varying culture, traditions,\netiquettes and even language because they ruled different regions and faced\ndifferent opponents and circumstances. Bhansali grossly generalizes all Rajputs.\nAccording to Bhansali's theorem all Rajput clans like Chauhan, Sisodia,\nRathore(Rashtrakutas), Solanki(Chalukya), Parmar, Kachwahas (Rajawats, Shekhawat\netc.), Tomer/Tanwar, Bhati, Jadeja, Pratihar/Parihar, Gaur, Jadaun, Bais etc.\nare all same.\nPlease notice following verse:-\nबलहट बँका देवड़ा, करतब बँका गौड़ !\nहाडा बँका गाढ़ में, रण बँका राठौड़ !!\nAbove verse mentions the characteristic qualities of 4 Rajput clans. And of\nthese two Hada and Deora are branches of Chauhan Rajput clan. So, even there's a\nunique identity to a subclan of Rajput clan and to generalize all Rajput and\ntrying to summarize them in one movie is wrong. He used the Ghoomar which is\nunique to Marwar and has shown it as dance form of Mewar which culturally and\nhistorically inaccurate. Also, he has no idea about the dialect spoken in these\nregions. Dialects of Marwar, Mewar, Dhundhad and Shekhawati are different. Any\nperson living in Rajasthan will verify that fact to you.\n\nIt's like if tomorrow all Euroean countries form a United Nation, does that mean\nthat historians should forget that there ever existed England, Italy, France\netc. They have their own cultural identities, language etc.\n\nIf Mr. Bhansali can't give that much attention to details then it's not\nnecessary to make a movie about a subject you know nothing about because then\nyou'll commit the same sort of mistakes which Jayasi did, Jayasi never visited\nChittor, and here Mr. Bhansali didn't bother to ask Royal Family of Mewar\nanything and didn't shoot his movie in Rajasthan and he has actually made his\nmovie on Khilji, taking Ranveer as main lead is proof of that and then claiming\nthat it's about Padmavati, Ratan Singh and Chittor, it's not. And He even said\nthat it's tribute to Rajputs. I want Mr. Bhansali to watch following Video, a\nTribute Given by Israel to Rajputs, Jodhpur Lancers (Rathore Army of Jodhpur,\nRaised by Sir Pratap Singh Rathore) and Hero of Haifa 'Major Dalpat Singh\nShekhawat' and 'Captain Aman Singh Rathore(Jodha)':-\n\n> Rajputs [https://www.facebook.com/karmwaar/videos/2083964308493994/]Israel\nreleases a Video of Haifa hero's Maj Dalpat Singh Shekhawat and Capt Aman Singh\nJodha of Jodhpur Lancers...Rajputs defeated Ottoman Turks and Germans at Haifa\nand liberated this city ..The supreme spiritual leader of the Bahai faith was\nalso rescued in this operation.#WW1\nCourtesy -Praduman Singh Ji\n\nEdit - Below is the translation of Hebrew audio in English :\n\nOver the city of Haifa hovers the story of the last cavalry battle in the\nhistory in which a fortified city was taken.I commanded over this battle. my\nname is Th Dalpat Singh.but unfortunately already in the first minutes of battle\n, i was mortally wounded.so how did i get the title \" hero of haifa \" ? I was\nborn in a small village in the province of jodhpur. My father thakur Hari Singh\ncame from a simple and poor family. But his polo skills caught the eyes of the\nfounder of jodhpur polo team Sir Pratap Singh. Outstanding athletes and\ncelebrities,were also the most courageous officers of the indian army.so,it was\nno surprise that Sir Pratap also established the cavalry regiment of jodhpur.My\nfather became a commander in this battalion, thus our family got to be household\nmembers in Sir Pratap's home. When I was ten my dad died. They say he drank and\ndrank ,until his body collapsed.Sir Pratap did not hesitate and took me under\nhis wing.He even sent me to school in England.when I returned to jodhpur in\n1912,i was also attached to the cavalry regiment of jodhpur. At the outbreak of\nthe great war we were sent to help british in their struggle against Ottoman\nEmpire ,Austro-Hungarian and German , and i found myself in Israel. We were\ngetting ready for the battle of Haifa which was an important strategic objective\nafter a successful conquest in the south of the country. As the British army had\nalready set in Megiddo , we received Intel on ottoman forces evacuation of the\ncity of Haifa. The British thought they will simply travel to the city and wave\nthe flag of British empire. A small armored force headed by General A King\nsitting in an open Rolls Royce went into the city. The info turned out to be\nincorrect and the strange force was caught in the fire from which it got out\njust 4 hours later. The mission of occupation was then assigned to us , the\nIndian cavalry regiment.\nOur battalion leader was busy on a remote task so I was assigned to lead the\nbattalion. I knew I could bring great honor and pride to Sir Pratap . Although\nhe was already in his 70s , he accompanied the regiment in all our travels . For\nme it was like my dad was here with me and I started preparing for a hard\nbattle. Mysore battalion had split in the morning of Sept 23 and I was assigned\nto attack the City with two divisions but the terrain conditions made it quite\ndifficult for the troops. On the one hand , the horses sank into the marshes in\ncoastal area and on the other hand we encountered a steep slope strewn with\nboulders. It slowed down the movement of horses causing injuries. We crossed\nbetween the Kishonwadi and Carmel ridge. When we reached the crossing , we ran\ninto the barrage of heavy artillery shells and already at this stage I was\nmortally wounded. I wanted to stand up and lead the troops despite the risks ,\ndespite the fear as I learned from Sir Pratap but I was paralyzed.\nIn a last effort , I managed to see How captain Aman Singh Jodha , 40 years old\nand one of the experienced commanders of the battalion recognized those who got\nme and raced attacking them directly on the horsebacks.\nEquipped with Spears of three and half meters and carbines , my friends backed\nby a British unit continued their offense against the ottomans who were armed\nwith machine guns and cannons. Against all odds Aman Singh Jodha and soldiers\nkilled 80 ottoman soldiers and took 700 captive. An hour later , Haifa was in\nour hands.\nBut in the meantime my severe injuries overwhelmed me and I closed my eyes. On\nmy death I was 25 . For Sir Pratap , the news about my death was hard . He took\ncare of me all his life and so on my death thanks to him I was awarded the title\n\"Hero of Haifa\" . But the story of conquest of Haifa is certainly not a single\nhero's story.\nHaifa is the last fortified City conquered by cavalry , brave Indian cavalry ,\namong them , me too.(Rajputs of Rajasthan )\n\nThe Rajputs [https://www.facebook.com/karmwaar/] ಅವರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದಂದು ಪೋಸ್ಟ್\nಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಭಾನುವಾರ, ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 24, 2017\nHollywood even made movie on Leonidas, how come situation of Rawal Ratan Singh\nany different. Please read following Screenshot about Rajputs from Annals and\nAntiquities of Rajas'than.\n\nMovie is about Real Historical characters & Places, but it's based on a\nFictional Poem 'Padmavat' by Jayasi and Mr. Bhansali's own imagination\nIt's a movie about Real Historical characters such Rani Padmini, Rawal Ratan\nSingh, Gora & Badal and Allauddin Khilji, Khusru, Malik Kaffur and real\nhistorical places like Chittor based on a Fictional Poem 'Padmavat' by Jayasi\nand Bhansali's own imagination.\nOur history and one of most valourous and also sad event in our history is just\nan entertainment for someone. People should know that Rani Padmini, The daughter\nof Rawal Punyapal Bhati of Poongal, Jaisalmer is not fiction. Her mother was\nfrom Sinhalwada, Rajasthan a small Chauhan Kingdom. Gora Singh Chauhan was her\nmaternal uncle and Badal was her cousin. Are you still bent on believing Jayasi\nStory but ignore all Bards and folk literature and songs of Rajasthan. It used\nto take about 8 months to travel to Shri Lanka, during such circumstances Ratan\nSingh can't offord to go to Shri Lanka to marry some princess, considering\nJauhar & Saka happened in 1301 at Ranthambore as well. Those who still claim\nRani Padmini as fiction should know that there happened 3 Jauhars & Saka in\nChittor and it's a historical fact, and even before that just 2 years ago in\n1301, a Jauhar and Saka also took place in Ranthambore. (Please read about\nHammirdev Chauhan, here's youtube video I found: \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl0CouELQHU and also read about him in history\nbooks about 'Hathi Hammir or Hammir Dev Chauhan of Ranthambore')\n\nJayasi himself says that he has heard this historical story and writing a\nfictional account of It. Even Padmini story is mentioned in songs of Bards\nbefore Padmavat by Jayasi and also in Kshatriya Charit poem written 15 years\nprior to Padmavat by Jayasi. Reknowned Historian Dashrath Sharma defended Rani\nPadmini's existence was of the view that there are evidence to support her\nexistence.\n\nBajirao-Mastani\nAlso he has shown Mastani as Rajput in his previous movie. Whom Rajputs don’t\nconsider as Rajput. A child of Rajput father and Rajput mother is only\nconsidered as Rajputs. Chhatrasal Bundela was shown as nobody & Bajirao as mere\nlover. Chhatrasaal who singly established his own empire Bundelkhand and\nchallanged Aurangzaib and remained ruling his kingdom victoriously without\nlosing a battle and Bajirao who won 40+ battles.\n\nMovie Ramlila & Ranvir's Remark about Padmavati Movie & his excitement to work\nwith Deepika\nIn Ramlila he used name of Rajput clan which after opposition from Rajput\ncommunity changed to Saneda and Razadi. And Ranvir Singh’s inappropriate remarks\nand disclosure that he is excited to work with deepika in this movie and they\nmay shoot a dream sequence etc. which obviously I hope won’t be there after\nopposition from Rajputs. So it's also a point Rajputs do not trust Bhansali, he\nhas lost it in his previous movies, and quite rightly so.\n\nConclusion\nThe Rajput community has every right to oppose this movie and has a say in it\nbecause it's their ancestors' story. All Rajputs are bound by blood. Rajputs\nhave their unique culture and traditions, Rajasthan has its own language,\nbeliefs, way of life and to portray it incorrectly is wrong. Some people say why\ndidn't you oppose earlier? Well, we should have. If someone doesn't object to\nsomething, doesn't make it right. If you teach kids as 2+2=10; maybe you and I\nwill find it okay, but it's likely that somebody won't want or like that. Also,\nI condemn the remarks made by some people from Rajput community towards Deepika.\nBut It's also wrong on part of media that when they were protesting for past 18\nmonths peacefully and occassional untoward instances, you didn't show that\ncorrectly. You deliberately pick people who can't represent Rajput community,\nyou allowed them to enter your studios with weapons and then pretend to be\nsurprised. And you judge whole Rajput community on the basis of comments and\nactions of few, literally. While you were disrespecting Rajputs, many of my\nbrothers are protecting borders and many sacrificing their lives. BTW I don't\nknow those two guys you bring everyday on debates and they're fool enough to\ncome there, without understanding your agenda that you're generalizing the whole\ncommunity. Never even heard about them, while I do respect sentiments of some of\nthose people but I don't support their views or actions like issuing threats or\nusing inappropriate language. Why are you not showing views of Royal Family of\nMewar in this matter? Why are you not asking views of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore\na Rajput politician, Rajnath Singh (Home Minister of India, a Rajput) or\nMahendra Singh Dhoni. Because you've found bunch of people and you're set on\nyour agenda to disrespect and tarnish honour of Rajputs and that's exactly why\nthere is rage in Rajput community.\n\n> The Rajput race is the noblest and proudest in India, they are of highest\nantiquity and purest descent, they have a military autocracy of a feudal type,\nand \"brave and chivalrous, keenly sensitive to an affront, and especially\njealous of the honour of their women\".\n— Lt.Col. James Tod in Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan\n> If devotion to the fair sex be admitted as a criterion of civilization, the\nRajpoot must rank high. His susceptibility is extreme, and fires at the\nslightest offense to female delicacy, which he never forgives.\n— Lt.Col. James Tod in Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan\nThus this movie \"Padmavati\" needs to be opposed and all inappropriate things\nneed to be removed.\nSome also say that it's just a movie. Well, Mughal-e-Azam was also just a movie\nand purely fictional at that. All people of India are not educated and don't\nwant to be educated and especially not in History. Movies and News Channels are\ntheir primary source of education & information. It's India, not America, and\neven Americans can choose Trump as their president. And there's new trend in\nMedia i.e. write opposite news, fake news with distorted facts and hurt people,\nwhat offends gets more views.\n\nAlso, too much pride and trust in democratic processes is not a good thing for\nthe people, it maybe good for the democracy but not for the people, our country\nand society and thus eventually not good for the democratic system. Such people\nwho participate in debates without knowing much about Rajputs should be aware\nthat they're here talking about history of Rajputs, who've sacrificed lakhs of\nlives and ruled for more than thousand years, some clans ruled many thousand\nyears. Whereas democracy hasn't yet completed a century. We all know how our\njudicial system, police and politicians actually usually function.\n\nRajputs do have highest regard for country & its people and respect it immensely\nand are always willing to sacrifice life for the country & its people and\nnothing can takeaway that attitude especially from a common Rajput. But do they\nhave the same respect for the democracy? I feel they mostly don't, and not even\nactually accept it whole-heartedly or remain unconcerned with it. Though some\nRajput might actually not openly agree to it or even oppose my this view. But I\nthink it's somewhat actually right especially in present circumstances and lots\nof reasons have led to this attitude towards democracy and they're losing trust\nin BJP or Congress or any other party because none of them addresses Rajput\ncommunity's concerns and issues and Rajputs feel that they're not gaining much\nfrom current system of governance and their community is lagging behind and now\nhonour of their forefathers and history is under attack by Idiots and so these\nevents, oppositions, rallies, gatherings of Rajputs are just modes of outbursts.\nAnd political parties and policies of this country and media are responsible for\nit. And it's also entirely possible that Padmavati movie is just in line of fire\nof Rajputs and this opposition actually against Bollywood in general and\ncombined outcome of lots of things which they've wrongly portrayed and Rajput\ncommunity let those slide in the past and they won't let that happen in future.\nTo other people it may or maynot make much difference, but to Rajputs it means a\nlot. Rajputs may not go to such extent for even getting other political\nadvantages or even for reservations, But when it comes to honour, a common\nRajput is always willing to sacrifice everything for it because many just only\nhave name & honour of the clan and sword of ancestors as their sole ancestral\nproperty. Media & Politicians would need to be wise in this matter and handle\nthis Padmavati issue with care and it needs utmost sincerity & honesty of all\npeople involved.\n\nIt'd really great on part of Mr. Bhansali if he shows a great story on which\nevery Indian can be proud of. I also appreciate if at the end of Movie he also\nshows victory of Rana Hammir and reconquering of Chittor by Guhilots(Sisodia).\nLet's hope that this movie becomes a matter of pride and not a blot. The Rajput\ncommunity would hail Mr. Bhansali if he does the right thing this time and don't\nhurt Rajput sentiments.\n\nThe duality in the Rajput character was really astonishing. On the one hand he was a grim warrior, forever ready to draw his sword taking the cruelty, horror and pain of war in his stride. On the other hand he was gentle, warm in his hospitality, a lover of music and dance, and kind to the womenfolk, even those of his enemy. \n— M. S. People should know that Rani Padmini, The daughter of Rawal Punyapal Bhati of Poongal, Jaisalmer is not fiction. Her mother was from Sinhalwada, Rajasthan a small Chauhan Kingdom. Gora Singh Chauhan was her maternal uncle and Badal was her cousin. Are you still bent on believing Jayasi Story but ignore all Bards and folk literature and songs of Rajasthan. It used to take about 8 months to travel to Shri Lanka, during such circumstances Ratan Singh can't offord to go to Shri Lanka to marry some princess, considering Jauhar & Saka happened in 1301 at Ranthambore as well. Those who still claim Rani Padmini as fiction should know that there happened 3 Jauhars & Saka in Chittor and it's a historical fact, and even before that just 2 years ago in 1301, a Jauhar and Saka also took place in Ranthambore. (Please read about Hammirdev Chauhan, here's youtube video I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl0CouELQHU and also read about him in history books about 'Hathi Hammir or Hammir Dev Chauhan of Ranthambore')

Jayasi himself says that he has heard this historical story and writing a fictional account of It. Even Padmini story is mentioned in songs of Bards before Padmavat by Jayasi and also in Kshatriya Charit poem written 15 years prior to Padmavat by Jayasi. Reknowned Historian Dashrath Sharma defended Rani Padmini's existence was of the view that there are evidence to support her existence.

Bajirao-Mastani

Also he has shown Mastani as Rajput in his previous movie. Whom Rajputs don’t consider as Rajput. A child of Rajput father and Rajput mother is only considered as Rajputs. Chhatrasal Bundela was shown as nobody & Bajirao as mere lover. Chhatrasaal who singly established his own empire Bundelkhand and challanged Aurangzaib and remained ruling his kingdom victoriously without losing a battle and Bajirao who won 40+ battles.

Movie Ramlila & Ranvir's Remark about Padmavati Movie & his excitement to work with Deepika

In Ramlila he used name of Rajput clan which after opposition from Rajput community changed to Saneda and Razadi. And Ranvir Singh’s inappropriate remarks and disclosure that he is excited to work with deepika in this movie and they may shoot a dream sequence etc. which obviously I hope won’t be there after opposition from Rajputs. So it's also a point Rajputs do not trust Bhansali, he has lost it in his previous movies, and quite rightly so.

Conclusion

The Rajput community has every right to oppose this movie and has a say in it because it's their ancestors' story. All Rajputs are bound by blood. Rajputs have their unique culture and traditions, Rajasthan has its own language, beliefs, way of life and to portray it incorrectly is wrong. Some people say why didn't you oppose earlier? Well, we should have. If someone doesn't object to something, doesn't make it right. If you teach kids as 2+2=10; maybe you and I will find it okay, but it's likely that somebody won't want or like that. Also, I condemn the remarks made by some people from Rajput community towards Deepika. But It's also wrong on part of media that when they were protesting for past 18 months peacefully and occassional untoward instances, you didn't show that correctly. You deliberately pick people who can't represent Rajput community, you allowed them to enter your studios with weapons and then pretend to be surprised. And you judge whole Rajput community on the basis of comments and actions of few, literally. While you were disrespecting Rajputs, many of my brothers are protecting borders and many sacrificing their lives. BTW I don't know those two guys you bring everyday on debates and they're fool enough to come there, without understanding your agenda that you're generalizing the whole community. Never even heard about them, while I do respect sentiments of some of those people but I don't support their views or actions like issuing threats or using inappropriate language. Why are you not showing views of Royal Family of Mewar in this matter? Why are you not asking views of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore a Rajput politician, Rajnath Singh (Home Minister of India, a Rajput) or Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Because you've found bunch of people and you're set on your agenda to disrespect and tarnish honour of Rajputs and that's exactly why there is rage in Rajput community.

The Rajput race is the noblest and proudest in India, they are of highest antiquity and purest descent, they have a military autocracy of a feudal type, and \"brave and chivalrous, keenly sensitive to an affront, and especially jealous of the honour of their women\".
— Lt.Col. James Tod in Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan

If devotion to the fair sex be admitted as a criterion of civilization, the Rajpoot must rank high. His susceptibility is extreme, and fires at the slightest offense to female delicacy, which he never forgives.
— Lt.Col. James Tod in Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan

Thus this movie \"Padmavati\" needs to be opposed and all inappropriate things need to be removed.
Some also say that it's just a movie. Well, Mughal-e-Azam was also just a movie and purely fictional at that. All people of India are not educated and don't want to be educated and especially not in History. Movies and News Channels are their primary source of education & information. It's India, not America, and even Americans can choose Trump as their president. And there's new trend in Media i.e. write opposite news, fake news with distorted facts and hurt people, what offends gets more views.

Also, too much pride and trust in democratic processes is not a good thing for the people, it maybe good for the democracy but not for the people, our country and society and thus eventually not good for the democratic system. Such people who participate in debates without knowing much about Rajputs should be aware that they're here talking about history of Rajputs, who've sacrificed lakhs of lives and ruled for more than thousand years, some clans ruled many thousand years. Whereas democracy hasn't yet completed a century. We all know how our judicial system, police and politicians actually usually function.

Rajputs do have highest regard for country & its people and respect it immensely and are always willing to sacrifice life for the country & its people and nothing can takeaway that attitude especially from a common Rajput. But do they have the same respect for the democracy? I feel they mostly don't, and not even actually accept it whole-heartedly or remain unconcerned with it. Though some Rajput might actually not openly agree to it or even oppose my this view. But I think it's somewhat actually right especially in present circumstances and lots of reasons have led to this attitude towards democracy and they're losing trust in BJP or Congress or any other party because none of them addresses Rajput community's concerns and issues and Rajputs feel that they're not gaining much from current system of governance and their community is lagging behind and now honour of their forefathers and history is under attack by Idiots and so these events, oppositions, rallies, gatherings of Rajputs are just modes of outbursts. And political parties and policies of this country and media are responsible for it. And it's also entirely possible that Padmavati movie is just in line of fire of Rajputs and this opposition actually against Bollywood in general and combined outcome of lots of things which they've wrongly portrayed and Rajput community let those slide in the past and they won't let that happen in future. To other people it may or maynot make much difference, but to Rajputs it means a lot. Rajputs may not go to such extent for even getting other political advantages or even for reservations, But when it comes to honour, a common Rajput is always willing to sacrifice everything for it because many just only have name & honour of the clan and sword of ancestors as their sole ancestral property. Media & Politicians would need to be wise in this matter and handle this Padmavati issue with care and it needs utmost sincerity & honesty of all people involved.

It'd really great on part of Mr. Bhansali if he shows a great story on which every Indian can be proud of. I also appreciate if at the end of Movie he also shows victory of Rana Hammir and reconquering of Chittor by Guhilots(Sisodia). Let's hope that this movie becomes a matter of pride and not a blot. The Rajput community would hail Mr. Bhansali if he does the right thing this time and don't hurt Rajput sentiments.

The duality in the Rajput character was really astonishing. Although, I don't think that there will be any scene between Allaudin Khilji and Padmavati especially after such opposition from Rajput community, not even in a dream. He can portray Khilji in a certain manner like how Shahrukh was portrayed in Baajigar, i.e. A negative character may get liked or remembered more. Here a negative character will have so much screen presence that people will feel that Khilji was awesome. And people may say when coming out of cinema hall \"Kya role play kiya h ranvir ne aur shahid lagega ki kya lallu tha.\" instead of saying \"how great was the sacrifice of Padmavati and Rajput Warriors\". Rajput women do not dress that way even today in Rajasthan, also even Thakurani(Wife of the feudal lord) don’t dance. In some places ladies stand up when \"Thakurani sa\" walks in, I’ve seen myself. And here he has shown Padmavati dancing, a Queen.

That could've been fine as well if the dance was a little more graceful and the dress was nice especially considering some of the background artists are wearing appropriate dresses in the Padmavti's Ghoomar Song. So Mr. Bhansali was aware of what actually are Rajput customs and dress is but he didn’t choose to show.

I was born in a small village in the province of jodhpur. My father thakur Hari Singh came from a simple and poor family. But his polo skills caught the eyes of the founder of jodhpur polo team Sir Pratap Singh. Outstanding athletes and celebrities, were also the most courageous officers of the indian army.so,it was no surprise that Sir Pratap also established the cavalry regiment of jodhpur. My father became a commander in this battalion, thus our family got to be household members in Sir Pratap's home. When I was ten my dad died. They say he drank and drank ,until his body collapsed.Sir Pratap did not hesitate and took me under his wing.He even sent me to school in England.when I returned to jodhpur in 1912,i was also attached to the cavalry regiment of jodhpur. At the outbreak of the great war we were sent to help british in their struggle against Ottoman Empire ,Austro-Hungarian and German , and i found myself in Israel. We were getting ready for the battle of Haifa which was an important strategic objective after a successful conquest in the south of the country. As the British army had already set in Megiddo , we received Intel on ottoman forces evacuation of the city of Haifa. The British thought they will simply travel to the city and wave the flag of British empire. A small armored force headed by General A King sitting in an open Rolls Royce went into the city. The info turned out to be incorrect and the strange force was caught in the fire from which it got out just 4 hours later. The mission of occupation was then assigned to us , the Indian cavalry regiment.\nOur battalion leader was busy on a remote task so I was assigned to lead the battalion. I knew I could bring great honor and pride to Sir Pratap . Although he was already in his 70s , he accompanied the regiment in all our travels . For me it was like my dad was here with me and I started preparing for a hard battle. Mysore battalion had split in the morning of Sept 23 and I was assigned to attack the City with two divisions but the terrain conditions made it quite difficult for the troops. On the one hand , the horses sank into the marshes in coastal area and on the other hand we encountered a steep slope strewn with boulders. It slowed down the movement of horses causing injuries. We crossed between the Kishonwadi and Carmel ridge. When we reached the crossing , we ran into the barrage of heavy artillery shells and already at this stage I was mortally wounded. I wanted to stand up and lead the troops despite the risks , despite the fear as I learned from Sir Pratap but I was paralyzed.\nIn a last effort , I managed to see How captain Aman Singh Jodha , 40 years old and one of the experienced commanders of the battalion recognized those who got me and raced attacking them directly on the horsebacks.\nEquipped with Spears of three and half meters and carbines , my friends backed by a British unit continued their offense against the ottomans who were armed with machine guns and cannons. Against all odds Aman Singh Jodha and soldiers killed 80 ottoman soldiers and took 700 captive. An hour later , Haifa was in our hands.\nBut in the meantime my severe injuries overwhelmed me and I closed my eyes. On my death I was 25 . For Sir Pratap , the news about my death was hard . I do read blogs,\narticles and even documentations of software but not novels. But this week I\nread \"The Perks of being a Wallflower\". The last novel which I read was The\nAlchemist. Written by Stephen Chbosky, \"The Perks of being a Wallflower\" is\nreally a fantastic book.\n\nI think I can relate to charlie somewhere. I think a lot many can relate to him.\nThe small little nitty gritty details about people which you notice and don't\nwrite, is written in this book. Most people are too obsessed with themselves and\ntheir life that they ignore what's happening around them.\n\nCharlie is this kid who knows what's happening around him and he keeps quite\nabout them, he introspects and he understands. He's a Wallflower.\n\nCharlie is not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy,\nintrospective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, caught between\ntrying to live his life and trying to run from it.\n\nI learned a lot from this book, but most importantly I learned that it's okay to\nfeel things and be who you are about them.\n\nI also learned few new english words. Nice addition to my English vocab. I'm an\nIndian guy so my english is not that good. These words are valedictorian,\nsilhouette, vented, primping, bleachers, corny and sorority.\n\nLanguage is fluent. Small and large letters with all details. Letters always\nestablish some sort of bond. They feel personal and touch reader's heart.\n\nI probably quote the whole book but still I'm mentioning some quotes below.\n\nFew Quotes from \"The Perks of being a Wallflower\" which I admire:-\n> I just think it's bad when a boy looks at a girl and thinks that the way he sees\nthe girl is better than the girl actually is. And I think it's bad when the most\nhonest way a boy can look at a girl is through a camera. It's very hard for me\nto see Sam feel better about herself just because an older boy sees her that\nway.\n> I just hope I remember to tell my kids that they are as happy as I look in my\nold photographs.\n> So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm\nstill trying to figure out how that could be.\n> Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.\n> Charlie, We accept the love we think we deserve.\n> I think that if I ever have kids, and they are upset, I won't tell them that\npeople are starving in China or anything like that because it wouldn't change\nthe fact that they were upset. And even if somebody else has it much worse, that\ndoesn't really change the fact that you have what you have.\n> Sometimes people use thought to not participate in life.\n> Be skeptical ablout this one. It's a great book. But try to be a filter, not a\nsponge.\n> “We didn't talk about anything heavy or light. We were just there together. And\nthat was enough”\n> And I guess I realized at that moment that I really did love her. Because there\nwas nothing to gain, and that didn't matter.\n> I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I'm\ntelling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.\n> If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am.\nAnd I don't want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I\ncan feel it, too. I want them to be able to do whatever they want around me.\n> Maybe it's good to put things in perspective, but sometimes, I think that the\nonly perspective is to really be there. Like Sam Said. film’s narrative is clearly fictional, though allusions to Ballaladevā (Rana\nDaggubāti) and Bijjaladevā (Nasser): both actual kings from the Hoysala and\nKalachuri dynasties – makes you believe an illusion of actual historic\nreference.\n\nAccording to ABHONA PLATES OF SANKARAGANA:(KALACHURI) YEAR 347 of the Abhira\nera, corresponding to A.D. 597, found in the possession of a Rajput family of\nAbhona, a village in Kalvan taluka of the Nasik District in the Bombay state,\nThe earliest known Kalachuri family ruled around 550-620 AD.\n\nIn the Abhona plates Sankaragana declares his Śaiva faith and the Pāśupata\ndevotion of his father Krsnarāja. Sankaragana's Abhona plates speak of his\nfather Krishnaraja's \"illustrious\" lineage.\n\nTheir capital Mahismati was situated in the Narmada River valley.\n\nThe Kalachuri Empire was the name used by two kingdoms who had a succession of\ndynasties from the 10th-12th centuries, one ruling over areas in Central India\n(west Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan) and were called Chedi or Haihaya (Heyheya)\n(northern branch-Kalchuri Rajput Clan) and the other the southern Kalachuri who\nruled over parts of Karnataka. They are supposed to be offshoot of Abhira of\nTraikutakas dynasty.\n\n18 centuries ago Haihaya/Hariobans/Hayobans/Haiha Rajput clan was extremely\npowerful and held all the eastern parts of what is now known as central\nprovinces. There they founded the city of Maheswati, Raipur and Ratanpur and\nfurnished the latter with a dynasty which ruled over Chattisgarh for 32\ngenerations. Haihaya is a Lunar Dynasty Rajput clan.\n\nOther minor historical references :\nWhen the movie starts it shows a cave. The similar birth did take place in\nreality in Guhilot Dynasty.\nThe Guhilot Dynasty derives its name from guha 'a cave', because one of the\nwives of the Rana of Meywar, escaping from the sack of Balabhi in 524 AD took\nrefuse among some Brahmans, and was delivered of a son in the cave. The boy was\ncalled Goha or 'cave-born' by his protectors, and his descendants bear the title\nof Guhilot, Grahilot or Gahlot. Rana Pratap was from this same dynasty. Guhilot\nDynasty also known as sisodiya dynasty.\n\nBahubali as King\nThe story of Bahubali raised by tribals appears to be taken from the life of\nMaharana Pratap. The jealous queens of Udai Singh forced Maharana Pratap to live\nin a village below the ridge of Chittorgarh.\n\nRani Dheer Bai wanted her son Jagmal to succeed Udai Singh, but the seniors in\nthe royal court preferred Pratap, as the eldest son, to be their king. Udai\nSingh proclaimed his favorite son, 'Jagmal' to be the successor. But\nsurprisingly, in a coronation performed at Gogunda, Maharana Pratap was crowned,\nand hailed as the \"King of Mewar\". It's also similar to Ramayana when Bharat was\ndeclared as King but people wanted Rama as their king being the eldest Son. The\ndifference is Bharat was good brother and held his brother in high regard. So\nBahubali's story is more similar to Rana Pratap's case. In Bahubali climax,\nBijjaladevā(Nasser) says his son should be the king, but Shivagami(Ramya\nKrishna) announces Bahubali to be the king and people start hailing him as the\nKing of 'Mahishmati'.\n\nRajput Customs & Traditions: Sword Marriage, Dresses & Safa, Salutations And the\nbiggest reference that it’s influenced by Rajput customs and traditions such as\nmarriage with swords. In Rajput community, when matrimonial alliance is formed\nwith less powerful house which can spend much in marriage ceremonies or when the\ngroom is busy fighting wars elsewhere then Sword marriage is preferred. Some\nweaker Rajput families still prefer sword ceremony marriage as it saves them\nfrom expenditures of marriage, this sword marriage ceremony is still practiced\nin Rajputs of Saurashtra. Although it's not common and preferred only by\nfinancially weaker Rajput communities or when there is difference amongst the\nfinancial status of two families. And Groom's family do not want to burden the\nfamily of bride of this expenditure.\n\nCutting Head of Minister in Court On the Ground that the Minister has\ndisrespected the ladies, Bahubali cuts the head off in the full court. This\nevent takes historical reference to how Amar Singh Rathore did in Court of Shah\nJahan, when he cut the head of Salabat Khan who happens to be relative of Shah\nJahan as well. In the case of Amar Singh Rathore, other courtiers and warriors\nattack him, but Amar Singh Rathore kills them too and run off and was able to\nsuccessfully escape with his horse, he jumps off from the fort with his horse.\nAmar Singh Rathore movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WduhLdkR_eI\n\nRajput’s salutation Jai Bhawani and Safa can be observed in second part of the\nmovie when Bahubali brings devsena in darbar. Similar to how Arjun brought\nDropadi. When Bahubali brings Devsena in court, he was wearing the Rajput Safa.\nNote: Actor Prabhas Raju who played Bahubali belongs to Raju community of South,\nRajus claim Rajput descent.\n\nKattappa\n\nThe Role of 'Kattappa' and his personality to some extent is inspired by\nprotector of hastinapur, Bhisma of Mahabharta.\n\nDevasena\n\nHer situation seems to be inspired from Devki of Mahabharta, the mother of Lord\nKrishna. Or some may see it inspired by the movie \"Karan Arjun'.\n\nThis movie may pave way for more such stories which rather than fiction will be\nbased on real stories. I'd love to see movies on ancient indian or medieval\nwarfare stories of which the bards sing.\n\nColonel James Todd admitted of having in each state of Rajasthan a war such as\n\"Thrmoplli\" and warriors as \"Leonidas\". Except for some movies not many movies\nhave been made on Indian Warriors. At least not at the scale of Bahubali. And in\nthat sense Bahubali is incredible movie. Awesome Job S.S. Rajamouli.\n\nIf you find some more references you can add in comments.\n\nThanks for Reading!\n\nArticle References\nINCRIPTIONS OF THE EARLY KALACHURIS, ABHONA PLATES OF SANKARAGANA : (KALACHURI)\nYEAR 347\n[http://inscriptions.whatisindia.com/kalachuri-chedi/kalachuri-chedi-part1/incriptionsoftheearlykalcahuris.html]\n\nKalchuri Dynasty and various kings\n[http://historyofindia-madhunimkar.blogspot.in/2009/09/kalachuri-dynasty.html]\n\nKalachuri dynasty Wiki [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalachuri_dynasty]\n\nGuhilot dynasty, Handbook on Rajputs - A.H.Bingley\n[https://books.google.co.in/books?id=Cc2HyXP5dygC&q=Gahlot&source=gbs_word_cloud_r&cad=4#v=onepage&q&f=false]\n\nMahabharata [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahabharata]\n\nHariobans, Haihaya clan - Handbook on Rajputs by A.
